Trump’s campaign orders to pay Omarosa Manigolt Newman over $ 1.3 million | Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s campaign has ordered him to pay his former associate, Omarosa Manigolt Newman, more than $ 1.3 million in legal fees, ending a lawsuit alleging a breach of a non-disclosure agreement.

Celebrating the decision, Manigolt Newman is compared to David and the former president to Goliath.

John M. Phillips, a lawyer for Manigolt Newman, tweeted photos of the decision of arbitrator Andrew Brown. The total amount to be paid by Trump’s campaign was $ 1,310,873.48.

Phillips wrote: “Lawyer’s order and $ 1.3 million in costs issued against Trump’s campaign! (The highest known prevailing estimate of the party fee against a presidential or presidential campaign). Many thanks to Omarosa for believing in us during this three-year ordeal of arms litigation.

Phillips also tweeted a photo with Manigolt Newman, smiling and pointing to copies of the decision.

Manigolt Newman became known as a participant in The Apprentice, Trump’s reality series on NBC, before becoming his political aide and working for the White House.

Fired from this role, in 2018 she published a memoir that says it all, Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House. The book contains explosive allegations, including that the then president was a “racist” who repeatedly used the word N.

In his review, the Guardian said that although the book is “easy on politics”, it has all the ingredients of a great novel; power, gender, race and money ”.

Manigolt Newman also released audio recordings of Trump officials.

Trump is suing her for violating a non-disclosure agreement or NDA. He lost the case in September 2021.

The New York Times said Phillips had given him a copy of the ruling, in which arbitrator Brown wrote that Manigolt Newman was “defending himself on a lawsuit that has been extensively conducted for more than three years against an opponent who undoubtedly has many greater resources. “

Trump did not comment immediately.

Manigolt Newman tweeted: “First-year law student against [the 45th president’s] the whole legal team. (David v. Goliath) … Now excuse me as I return to my final contract law exam. ”

Trump faces major legal problems elsewhere, including investigations into his business and his attempts to undo his defeat in the 2020 election by Joe Biden.

He has lost other cases to the NDA, including one involving a former campaign official who said Trump kissed her by force.

Also Wednesday, Hillary Clinton, an opponent of Trump in 2016, filed a motion to dismiss a case accusing Trump of conspiracy to racketeer the election.

Calling him a “fundraiser, press release or list of political complaints”, Clinton’s lawyer David Kendall said he should be “rejected by prejudice”.
