A plane crash near Calgary killed a man and injured a woman

Calgary’s EMS reported that one person was killed and another was seriously injured in a plane crash near Springbank Airport on Friday.

EMS says two people were on the small plane when it crashed near Highway 1.

A man died in the crash while a 30-year-old woman was taken to Foothills Medical Center in critical, life-threatening condition.

According to the registration of the Transport Canada aircraft, this is a single-piston Mooney M20K aircraft from 1981, which is privately owned.

Springbank Airport is located about 10 kilometers west of Calgary in Rocky View County.
