The Milwaukee Bucks lost 114-110 to the Chicago Bulls in Game 2 on Wednesday, but even worse, the Bucks lost two key players in the process. Early in the fourth quarter, striker Khris Middleton left the game with pain in his left knee after slipping awkwardly in the middle of a turn in the crossbar. The great Bobby Portis left the game at halftime after hitting the eye in the first quarter of the game.

Both injuries prevented Bucks from down the field as they struggled to climb an 18-point deficit against the Bulls. But Middleton’s injury is far more important in this series. Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said after the game that Middleton had received an MCL sprain and would receive an MRI on Thursday to find out more information.

The results of this image confirmed a sprained MCL and Middleton will be re-evaluated in two weeks, Bucks announced on Thursday. This timeline will protect him until the rest of the first round series against the Bulls.

Middleton’s injury is a serious blow to Bucks’ team, which does not have much depth. This will mean that more will be required of Janice Adetokunmpo and Jru Holliday in attack, while role players such as Wes Matthews and Pat Conauton will have to start hitting at a constant speed.

When the injury occurred, Middleton was just starting to warm up for Bucks. After scoring just three points in the first half, Middleton scored 15 points in the second half while leading Milwaukee’s return. His exit from the game drained a lot of energy from Milwaukee, and although he managed to reduce Chicago’s lead, his absence from the floor was obviously disastrous.

“You sympathize with him,” Matthews said. “It simply came to our notice then. Chris is a huge part of this team, this organization, this city. I’m not sure what the situation is, I’m sure we’ll know more tomorrow. Just keep coming together with him. He will be with us. We hope it’s not so bad and we still have work to do. Our goal is to win basketball games and get it back as soon as possible. “
