Police in the British Columbia border are looking for a bank robber.

On Thursday at 16:07 a man entered the CIBC in Grand Forks and fled with a “large sum of money”.

The suspect wore a hood and covered his face, threatening the cashier and saying he had a gun while he wanted money.

The suspect received cash and then fled, heading south on 2nd Street.

The RCMP toured the area but could not find any suspects. Nelson detectives were present to investigate the scene.

“This is a very terrible incident to happen in our city,” said Grand Forks Squad Commander Sergeant Daryl Pepler. “These are very traumatic incidents for staff and witnesses, and we are very grateful that no one was injured in this crime.

The suspect was wearing a light blue hood and a dark O’Neill jacket on the back. His face was covered in blue.
