During the hearing, Green initially denied calling House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a “traitor to our country,” as CNF’s KFile reported.
“No, I didn’t say that,” she said.
Eventually, Green admitted that he said this about Pelosi while the lawyer questioned the congresswoman, setting out her testimony.
“Oh no. Wait. Wait now, ”Green said quickly. “Oh, no, wait, wait now. I believe that by not securing the border, it violates her oath. “
Before running for Congress in 2020, Green drafted a petition in the White House in January 2019 to impeach the Speaker of the Chamber for “Crimes of Betrayal”, citing Pelosi’s support for so-called asylum policies, which ” they serve the illegals, not the citizens of the United States, ”and because Pelosi did not support then-President Donald Trump’s border wall.
In a speech promoting the petition, Green suggested that Pelosi could be executed for treason.
“She is a traitor to our country. She is guilty of treason, “Green said in a 2019 video she posted on Facebook at the time before the video was removed. “She has sworn to protect American citizens and to obey our laws. And it gives help and comfort to our enemies who are illegally invading our land. This is treason. And according to our law, representatives and senators can be expelled and no longer serve in our government. And this is, uh, this is a crime punishable by death, this is betrayal. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason. “
Asked again about her comments at Friday’s hearing, Green said she did not remember making them when asked if she had said so.
“According to this CNN article, I did it,” Green said. – I do not remember. I don’t remember saying all that.
Green also denied knowing that she liked a post on her personal Facebook, advocating that Pelosi be shot in the head and executed. In a post from January 2019, Green’s account liked a comment that said “a bullet in the head would be faster” to remove Pelosi.
“I have no idea who liked this,” Green said, claiming that there are “many people” who run her social media, echoing a statement she posted on Twitter last year in which she did not deny liking the posts and responding to comments, but claims that many people have managed her Facebook page.
At the beginning of his testimony, Green said, “I never want to say anything about violence. All my words never, ever mean anything about violence.”
Green also said she could not recall whether she or any of her staff spoke to her friend and associate Anthony Aguero, who was part of the crowd entering the Capitol.
“I don’t remember,” Green said.
CNN previously reported that Aguero chanted “hey-ho” as rebels tried to infiltrate, and he later entered the Capitol’s rotunda. After he left, he chanted “our house” on the steps of the Capitol. In a live broadcast the day after the riot, he attacked those who condemned the search of the Capitol. Earlier, the FBI declined to comment on whether it was investigating Aguero in an email to CNN.
