COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KKTV) – Crews were called to a fire in Colorado Springs on Friday night near I-25 and Fillmore.
The fire was reported at about 9:45 p.m. in 3228 N. Chestnut Street. The neighborhood is west of I-25, between Garden of the Gods Road and Fillmore Street.
The fire was a second alarm fire at 10:10 p.m., as nearby Motel 6 and other structures were evacuated. The last estimated size is about 1/2 acre.
The evacuation orders were lifted around 10:20 p.m. At that time, the crews had made a good offensive attack on the fire and were close to limiting it.
