A man dies after being caught under agricultural equipment

Police are investigating the death of a man trapped under farm equipment west of Mallorytown, Ont.

The Leeds County Squad of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a property on County Road 2 shortly after 4:45 p.m. Friday.

The man was caught under an agricultural sprayer attached to a tractor, the OPP said in a press release on Saturday.

Marcus Klassen, 66, of Leeds and Thousands of Islands, has been pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Local fire and ambulance crews responded, and a neighbor also came to the rescue. An autopsy will be performed, and police and the Ontario Chief Investigator are still investigating.

Maloritown is about 140 kilometers south of downtown Ottawa.
