Asus’ new portable monitor looks like it was taken from a Duo laptop

Asus ProArt Display PA147CDV is a 14-inch touch screen that is designed to act as a secondary display for creative people. With its small form factor and ultra-wide 32: 9 aspect ratio, Asus seems to have ripped the secondary display off one of its Duo laptops and turned it into an external monitor.

The PA147CDV was technically announced last September, but Asus is currently showing it at NAB 2022 in Las Vegas and is announcing plans to launch the monitor in Q2 2022 in North America at a price not yet announced.

With support for Microsoft’s Pen Protocol 2.0 and a built-in dial designed to mimic Microsoft’s Surface Dial functionality, Asus offers the PA147CDV as an accessory for creators looking for a little extra screen without investing in a bulky second monitor or touchscreen tablet screen. We hope it will be at a lower price than competing displays with larger screen sizes.

The PA147CDV has a 14-inch 1920 x 550 IPS touch screen and is equipped with one HDMI port and two USB-C ports. The stand allows him to orient horizontally or vertically.

In addition to the PA147CDV, Asus is showing a pair of additional monitors released later this year. The ProArt Display OLED PA32DC 31.5-inch 3840 x 2160 monitor, which was unveiled last September, is scheduled for release in North America in the third quarter. It will be joined by ProArt Display PA348CGV, an ultra-wide 1440p monitor with a refresh rate of 120Hz, which was announced at CES 2022. We will update this piece if and when Asus contacts us with prices.
