The award-winning Senentheiser Momentum series finally welcomes a new arrival. This is a big deal: Momentum True Wireless 3 replaces previous award winners (namely Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2) and promises to set new standards when it comes to sound quality, adaptive noise reduction and user comfort.
A new graphite color joins the black and white coatings and fans of the older model will notice that the USB-C charging port is already on the front of the box. The more brutal design, with slightly smaller pimples and a low-contrast logo on each pimple (a design that has already won the Red Dot Design Award for 2022) is a conscious decision, and what Sennheiser tells us comes as a direct response to customer feedback.

Elsewhere, the company says customization is the name of the game in this third-generation product. As with its predecessors, the Momentum True Wireless 3 headphones promise exceptional sound quality, centered around Sennheiser’s True Response transducer and based on its dynamic 7mm drivers made in Germany.
However, you now get optional silicone fins in addition to four “headphone adapters” – and Sennheiser even provided a test to fit the ear adapter.
The new sound customization feature aims to provide an enhanced sound experience through a “listening guidance test” to tune in the perfect sound and individual user’s hearing.
In addition, the Sennheiser Smart Control app now offers a choice of presets, custom tiles depending on which features you want to prioritize, “Sound check” (charged as a powerful new feature that allows you to identify the perfect preset of EQ in three guided steps “),” Sound zones “and a new” Discovery “section for news and updates from Sennheiser.
Because the Momentum True Wireless 3 headphones are designed for everyday life on the go (and are available with IPX4 splash protection), Sennheiser explains that it has specifically improved the headphones with a new hybrid adaptive noise reduction solution that automatically adjusts to your environment . The system promises to constantly monitor ambient noise and thus suppress it in real time. Users who want to be aware of their surroundings can deactivate noise cancellation at the touch of a button or switch to transparency mode.

For the best possible synchronization between audio and visual content, Momentum True Wireless 3 supports Bluetooth 5.2 and a wide range of audio codecs, including the latest (and most desirable) aptX Adaptive, which reduces wireless audio latency to a minimum and can boasts up to 24-bit / 96kHz resolution.
Each handset now has three microphones to promote crystal clear call quality and smooth video calls, and Sennheiser tells us that pairing with a few points comes through a firmware update.
In case it needs to be mentioned, you also get touch controls on the device, which you can adjust to your personal preferences with the help of the updated Sennheiser Smart Control app.
Battery life is the stated seven hours and a total of 28 hours when using the case, which also supports wireless charging.
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 headphones are now available for pre-order and will be available from May 10, 2022 with an RRP of £ 220 / € 249.90 / $ 249.95 (excluding VAT) / AU $ 399.95 in black, white and graphite.
We can’t wait to try them. Watch this space …
