In recent weeks, Republican lawmakers have introduced a bill that seeks to halt attempts by the Home Office to make air travel easier for transgender travelers.
The bill, which was introduced by Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican Republican from Colorado Lauren Boubart is entitled “Law to provide Americans of madness during transport ‘. The bill was first unveiled on April 21, about three weeks after the Homeland Security announced plans for Transgender Visibility Day to renew airport security checks.
According to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the changes proposed by the department are “part of the entire government’s efforts to promote justice and be included in all our programs and processes.”
DHS’s new plans include implementing a gender-neutral scanning system, working with airlines to better serve people with a gender-marked “X” and less invasive screening for people who run security scanners in a “sensitive area” until the new scanning system is running. The agency said the new process would not compromise security.
Transgender people and activists often point to security concerns at the airport. According to a 2015 report by the National Center for Transgender Equality, more than 40% of respondents reported experiencing problems or discrimination at airport checkpoints.
But the measures were a step too far for Boubert and some of her Republican counterparts. She accused the Biden administration of “inviting terrorists” to take advantage of security at the US airport.
“If you doubt that the Biden regime is on a crusade to remake America in its own image, then look no further than TSA’s new trance screening policies,” Bowbert told Insider. “Reducing identity checks and measures for people who identify as transgender can confirm the fraudulent left, but it does nothing for the safety of passengers. In fact, they are in fact urging terrorists to take advantage of our weak and awakened security systems. The TSA literally has a job – and that’s not it. “
Boebert’s bill, which includes 11 Republican co-sponsors, bans the use of federal funds from the Transportation Security Administration to “remove biologically defined gender-based screening procedures from security screening.”
The bill was jointly sponsored by representatives Bishop, Good, Norman, Goetz, Mast, Homer, Donald, Jackson, Miller, Duncan and Klein and was referred to the Internal Security Committee on April 21.
