The Kamloops RCMP says they found two human bones in two weeks on the North Shore Trail near Kamloops Airport.
Mountis says the first human bone was found on March 26th, and the second was found by a tourist on April 9th in the southern interior city.
After the first discovery, investigators combed the area with the help of search dogs and carcasses, as well as search and rescue teams, but found no other “relevant items” for the investigation.
“Due to the proximity of the bones, it is suspected that the two are related, but we will not know for sure until the DNA analysis is completed,” said Const. Evelyn Crystal. “Since the first bone was discovered, the area has been thoroughly searched.”
“Air services and police boats have also been used to expand this demand and cover the coastline.
The BC Coroner’s Office is assisting the RCMP in the investigation, according to Evelyn.
