CHARLOTTE – Representative Madison Cotorne was quoted as saying she had a gun at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Tuesday morning, three sources told Channel 9.
According to the TSA, a 9mm pistol was found at checkpoint D. The TSA declined to identify the person who owned the gun.
A photo from Channel 9 shows that a loaded Staccato C2 was found in Charlotte Douglas on Tuesday morning.

It is unclear whether Kotorn will face any criminal charges. A spokesman for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department could not immediately comment.
This is not the first time a gun has been discovered at Cawthorn Airport. In February 2021, the TSA discovered a 9mm pistol in Cawthorn’s hand luggage bag at Asheville Regional Airport. No criminal charges have been filed against Kotorn.
TSA discovered 106 cannons at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in 2021.
A Cawthorn spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
