New Canada’s most wanted list includes 12 violent fugitives linked to Toronto

Twelve of the 25 suspects listed in a new list of most wanted across Canada have ties to Toronto, including one suspect in the deadly shooting in 2021, who received a $ 250,000 reward.

For the first time, the national BOLO program has compiled a list of 25 suspects wanted for murders, attempted murders or incidents of human trafficking since 1987.

The number one suspect on the list is 32-year-old Abilaziz Mohammed, who is accused of shooting 43-year-old Craig MacDonald in the parking lot of Scarborough Boston pizza last year.

BOLO program director Max Langlois says Mohammed was chosen as the prime suspect because of the circumstances surrounding the murder.

“We’re talking about someone who had fun in a restaurant and got into an argument and ended up being shot in a parking lot,” he said.

BOLO is offering $ 250,000 for information leading to Muhammad’s arrest, with the prize money running out if not requested by October 26.

“Craig was doing something very ordinary, celebrating Leafs’ victory, when for a moment, with a flick of his finger, his life was cut short,” Drema, Craig MacDonald’s sister, said in a statement read in the news. conference tuesday.

“I don’t even want to look at the suspect’s face, but I still find myself looking for him everywhere I go.”

Toronto Police Chief Jim Ramer told reporters that they believe Mohammed is hiding somewhere in the GTA.

BOLO will post photos and other details about each suspect on social media. Rewards for other suspects are up to $ 100,000.

Ramer said the rewards would tempt those who help every fugitive to betray them.

“Today your world is getting smaller – you’ve been looking over your shoulder since the time you were wanted for arrest – now with the awards announced today, the loyalty of your friends and associates who helped you will be tested,” he said. .

Langlois said new wanted people would be added to the top 25 list as others would eventually be arrested.

Sean Sportun, director of Toronto Crime Stoppers, said the names on the new list were ready to be arrested.

“In each of these cases, we are ready to go to court, we are not looking for evidence, we are not looking for witnesses.

In about four years of work, Langlois said the BOLO program has identified and identified 18 wanted countries.

Seven people were arrested during that time.
