A teenager has been arrested after three men were seriously injured when stabbed in a shopping center in Scarborough

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after three men were seriously injured when stabbed in the Scarborough Town Center shopping center on Tuesday night, Toronto police said.

A fight broke out between two groups of people inside the mall, near McCowan and Ellesmere roads in Scarborough. A signal for the fight was received by the police around 6:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found three men who had suffered stab wounds and stab wounds, according to Const. Alex Lee, a spokesman for the Toronto Police Department.

Toronto paramedics took them to a hospital, where they are listed in serious condition. Police did not say the age of the victims.

“Our investigators believe at the moment that this is an isolated incident,” Lee told reporters in front of the mall.

He said police were able to arrest him quickly with the help of mall guards and the teenager is in custody. A knife was found at the scene.

“I can confirm that there are many scenes,” he said.

Lee said a large area inside near Entrance 3 was plastered while officers gathered evidence from the scene. The crime scenes are outside the windows, in the hallway, at the entrance and outside in one part of the parking lot, he said.

“Our investigators believe that there are many people who are responsible for this,” he said.

Police said several people were involved in both groups. Lee said police had not determined the relationship between the two groups.

Many people were at the mall during the stabbing, he added.

“This is an ongoing and active investigation. It was a mall on weekdays and during the week,” Lee said. “There were people outside and shopping. We believe there are witnesses to this incident.”

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the fight or may have a video of the brawl from a mobile phone to come out. Officers from the 43rd Toronto Police Department are investigating and will review security camera footage from the mall.

Police vehicles, including a court identification truck, were parked in front of one of the mall’s entrances on Tuesday night after the stabbing.

There was blood on the ground in the parking lot.

Lee said police had sent additional officers to the area and it was safe.
