DaBaby’s legal team says people are wrong to jump to conclusions about a recent video of the rapper shooting and killing a man at Walmart … they say he actually supports the rapper’s defense.
Here’s the deal … Rolling Stone posted footage from a 2018 North Carolina fatal shooting on Sunday, and the article seems to call into question DaBaby’s self-defense story.
DaBaby shot and killed 19-year-old Jayline Craig in 2018, a shooting the rapper claims was in self-defense.

DaBaby’s lawyers, Drew Findling and Marisa Goldberg, told TMZ … the video was reviewed by prosecutors in 2018 … and they concluded that DaBaby acted in self-defense and was therefore not prosecuted for murder.
We were told that the video was even watched by a Mecklenburg County judge in connection with a criminal charge of not having the appropriate permits for his weapon.
As for the self-defense unit, DaBaby told cops that the victim and another accomplice were chasing him around the Walmart store and allegedly threatening him and throwing a gun … making him feel the need to defend himself.
The rapper’s lawyer tells us: “Witnesses were interviewed and confirmed Mr. Kirk’s statement. The entire surveillance video was watched and decided to confirm Mr Kirk’s statement … Mr Kirk defended himself and his family during the shooting. “
