Robert Pattinson’s Batman will return as Warner Bros. makes a sequel to Matt Reeves’ Batman. The deadline announces that Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group Toby Emmerich announced CinemaCon’s new film on Tuesday.
While my colleague Charles Pulliam-Moore thought the film was “one of the smaller recordings, essentially in Batman’s great cinematic canon,” it was a hit. The film grossed $ 760 million at the box office worldwide and was watched by 4.1 million households on HBO Max the first week it was available, according to Deadline. (The movie came to streaming service earlier this month.)
Both Reeves and Pattinson will return for the new film, although many other details are not yet known. But the film isn’t the only thing we should look forward to in the Reeves Batman universe, as there’s also a spin for Colin Farrell’s Penguin, which works for HBO Max.
