Nashville Predators
Giuseppe Saros will not play the last two games of the regular season for the Predators due to a lower body injury.
The goalkeeper made 30 saves before losing 5-4 overtime to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday at 13:28 in the third period.
David Ritich will probably start on Colorado Avelanche on Thursday (21:00 ET; ALT, BSSO, ESPN +, NHL LIVE), the first in a series to finish the season. Goalkeeper Connor Ingram has been recalled by Milwaukee from the American Hockey League.
Saros leads the NHL with 67 starts. His 38 victories are tied for second place with Andrey Vassilevsky of Tampa Bay Lightning and Predators’ second-biggest goalkeeper of the season (Peka Rine, 43 in 2011-12; 42 in 2017-18; 41 in 2014-15).
Nashville (44-29-7) will be one of the two wild cards of the Western Conference. He won a place in the playoffs for the Stanley Cup for the eighth consecutive season when the Dallas Stars beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 on penalties on Tuesday.
New York Rangers
Artemi Panarin and Andrew Copp will not play for the New York Rangers against the Montreal Canadiens at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday (19:30 ET; SNE, SNO, MSG, RDS, ESPN +, NHL LIVE).
Panarin (upper body) and Kop (lower body) lost 4-3 to Carolina Hurricane on Tuesday in the second period. Rangers coach Gerard Galant said the strikers did not return for safety reasons, so they were absent on Wednesday. He did not say whether they will play the regular season final against the Washington Capitals on Friday.
“Obviously nothing special,” Galant said. “I’ll know more today, but you have nothing to worry about. None of them will play tonight, but no worries about whether they will play next week.”
New York will finish second in the Metropolitan Division and will open the playoffs for the Stanley Cup against the Pittsburgh Penguins or Capitals.
Kopp also missed a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on April 23 with a lower body injury he suffered in a 6-3 victory over the New York Islanders two days earlier.
“We will give some players a break here,” Galant said. “It’s a good opportunity for that, so we’ll see where they go and how they get along.
“They can play on Friday. We will solve this. If they don’t play on Friday, it’s not because they will be injured. No problems. We make sure to be careful. “
Kaapo Kako will play against Montreal, Galant said. The striker missed four games with a lower body injury. He has played the previous four, scoring two goals in a 4-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on April 13th after returning from an upper body injury that dropped him in 31 games from January 22nd to April 7th.
“It’s good to have a few more games before the playoffs,” said Kako. “I feel good. I want to go out at full strength. I think I’m fine right now and I’m ready to play.” “Dan Rosen.”
Montreal Canadiens
Kerry Price is reassessing her knee in New York, where the Canadians will play with the New York Rangers.
The goalkeeper underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on July 23 to repair a torn meniscus. He was sent off on Sunday, losing 5-3 to the Boston Bruins after starting four of five games.
“He will be re-evaluated when he is seen in New York,” Montreal coach Martin St. Louis said on Tuesday. “So I don’t know if it’s a relapse, but I was happy that he managed to play and we’ll see what the next few days bring.”
Price made 17 saves in his season debut, a 3-0 loss to the New York Islanders on April 15, his first start since Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final. He has conceded six goals in each of his last two starts and is 0-4-0 with 4.03 goals against average and 0.853 per cent save.
“Is it a stroke? No, I thought it was a big plus for him to fight and come back from a long year of dealing with his injury,” said St. Louis. “But we knew he was playing, it wasn’t just going to go smoothly, you know, there are opportunities and I think that’s where we are and that’s why they’re watching him.”
Sam Montembo is expected to start against Rangers. “Sean Farrell.”
Toronto Maple Leafs
Michael Bunting will be re-evaluated before the Stanley Cup playoffs, which start on May 2, due to a lower body injury. He will not play the regular season final for Maple Leafs against the Boston Bruins on Friday (7pm ET; TVAS, TSN4, NESNplus, ESPN +, NHL LIVE).
The striker missed a 3-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday after suffering an injury in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Florida Panthers on Saturday. He did not play in the 4-3 victory against the Washington Capitals on Sunday.
“He’s obviously skating today, so it’s a very positive sign,” Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe said on Tuesday. “He will not play this week and then we will re-evaluate him from there, but things look positive.”
Bunting leads the NHL rookies with 63 points (23 goals, 40 assists) in 79 games.
Striker Ondrej Kase, who has not played since March 19 with a concussion, took part in a morning skating with the whole team on Tuesday, but Keefe said there was no schedule for his return.
Goalkeeper Petr Mrazek, who has not played since March 29 due to a groin injury, skated again on Tuesday. Keefe said he is making good progress, but there is still no schedule for his return.
Defender Jake Mouzin, who missed six games with an undisclosed injury, returned to Red Wings and skated in a pair with TJ Brody. “Dave McCarthy.”
