An ammunition depot caught fire near Russia’s border with Ukraine, a local official said, the latest in a series of incidents affecting Russian military facilities in regions neighboring Ukraine in recent weeks that could push supply lines to Russian forces.
The fire at a landfill in a village near Belgorod, about 15 miles from the border, was extinguished early Wednesday morning, according to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the district governor.
