Three California Road Patrol officers were injured when a suspected drunk driver crashed into the back of a Los Angeles Highway patrol car, setting it on fire early Thursday morning.
The big fire was filmed on video. Authorities said officers were investigating a crash on Highway 105 around midnight local time and blocked the area with flares. About 90 minutes later, police said a woman in a jeep went through flares and crashed into the back of a patrol car parked on the side of the highway.

The patrol car turned clockwise, hitting one of the CHP officers who was standing outside, according to Fox 11. Authorities say the policeman was seriously injured.
The patrol car then caught fire and there are still two police officers inside. The good Samaritan and another CHP officer ran to the burning car and pulled the two officers just as the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames, according to Fox 11. The station reported that another good Samaritan pulled out a third officer who was hit by a rotating patrol car away from the flames.

Police said the two officers pulled from the burning cruiser sustained moderate injuries. All three police officers were taken to district hospitals.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Lucia Jackson, has been arrested. Witnesses said they saw her accelerate to 95 miles an hour before the crash. CHP officials told Fox 11 that they expected Jackson to be convicted of drunk driving.
