The Biden administration on Friday issued an emergency fuel waiver allowing E15 gasoline – a fuel that uses 15% ethanol – to be sold in the United States this summer in a bid to expand U.S. access to affordable fuel supplies amid the surge. gas prices across the nation.

E15 is currently available at 2,300 petrol stations in the country, where administration officials say it could serve as “an important and more affordable source of fuel”.
The EPA’s emergency fuel release will take effect in May, when otherwise terminal operators will no longer be able to sell E15 in the affected regions of the country and will continue for the legal maximum of 20 days.
