“Evidence and other evidence from the trial establish the defendant’s role in preparing and recruiting underage girls and using the cover of massage to commit sexual assault,” said U.S. District Attorney Alison Nathan.
However, Nathan accepted Maxwell’s proposal for repeated censuses.
“The Government recognizes that point one is multiple with point three, and the Court also concludes that point five is multiple with point three,” Nathan wrote. “Count Five, like paragraphs one and three, accused the defendant of participating in the same decade-long illegal agreement with the defendant’s ongoing conspirator, Jeffrey Epstein, to prepare and sexually abuse underage girls.
Maxwell’s sentence is scheduled for June 28 and the court will hand down a conviction on counts three, four and six.
Maxwell, 60, was found guilty of five federal charges: sexually trafficking a minor, transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and three related conspiracy charges.
She was acquitted on charges of enticing a minor to travel to commit illegal sexual acts.
A previous request for a new trial due to a jury problem was rejected earlier in April.
