Hollywood Brown admits that he asked for a deal and that Lamar Jackson knew about it

Raven’s quarterback Lamar Jackson was surprised that Ravens swapped Hollywood receiver last night. Jackson didn’t have to be.

Brown told I Am Athlete Tonight on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio that he really wanted the deal and that Jackson really knew.

“It was simple. . . my luck, “Brown said.” I talked to Lamar about it after the second year. And then after my third year, until the end of the season, he didn’t play. I let him know again, like, ‘Yeah, bro, I can’t do it.’ “You know, it’s not really for Lamar, as I love Lamar. It’s just, you know, the system just wasn’t for me personally. You know, I love all my teammates. I love the boys. It was something I had to think about.” ”

So why was Lamar surprised by the move, and why was Lamar upset that the Ravens had done it? Although Brown said he loved Lamar, Brown said it all when he said, “The system just wasn’t for me.”

This system is Lamar Jackson. It was built around Jackson. It is not favorable for receivers to generate large numbers.

Rejecting the system is rejecting Jackson, no matter what Brown or anyone else says.

This is one of the reasons why Ravens find it difficult to attract receivers through a free agency. They have to put them together. And then they may have to trade them.

This will be the case unless and until they change the system. On the one hand, it is helpful not to do what everyone else is doing; this puts additional pressure on enemy defenses that do not encounter this type of system regularly.

On the other hand, if what a team does does not focus on one particular offensive position, the players who play that position will eventually want to play elsewhere.
