Kim Kardashian was acquitted of defamation in the Blac Chyna trial

A Los Angeles judge has ruled that Kim Kardashian should not be held liable for a defamation suit against Blac Chyna.

Documents received from Six show that the court ruled that “no statement made” by the founder of Skims, 41, was “alleged to be defamation” against the alumni of “Rob & Chyna”, 33.

Chyna’s team has previously said it only needs to prove that everyone accused in the case – including Kim, Chloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Chris Jenner – has been “responsibly involved” in slandering Chyna, whose real name is Angela White. .

Jurors were told to examine evidence, including emails and messages sent by Chloe, Kylie and Chris to network leaders.

The court agreed on Friday that there was no “evidence” that Kim had a “responsible role” in China’s defamation, according to documents, so the founder of Skims was removed from the defamation lawsuit.

The decision is based on the arguments of the lawyers, the court record and documents from the lawyer.

Although Kim has been acquitted of defamation charges, she is potentially still on the hook for alleged deliberate interference in a contract.

China accused the Kardashian-Jenner family of using their influence to cancel a potential second season of E! reality show.

However, Jeff Jenkins, a former co-chairman of Bunim-Murray and executive producer of the series, testified last week that networks including BET, VH1, Lifetime and MTV were also not interested in raising Rob & Chyna.

Chyna is seeking more than $ 100 million in economic damages, including loss of profits from social media posts, club and television appearances, and total emotional damage.

The Kardashian-Jenner family’s lawyer, Michael Rhodes, tried to have the case dropped altogether last Friday, arguing that China’s allegations were “absurd.”

He also said that the total amount of damages was based on “unsubstantiated and highly speculative claims” as it did not provide the relevant accounting records.

The jury meets from 9:30 am local time and can decide on the case until the end of Friday.
