Massachusetts spokesman David LeBeauf arrested for DUI with BAC nearly four times legal limit

A Massachusetts lawmaker was arrested on Tuesday and charged with drunk driving with blood alcohol content almost four times the legal limit, the report said.

State official David LeBeauf was stopped by state police on Interstate 93 in Quincy around 10:30 p.m. after two people called 911 to report a non-permanent expressway driver, MassLive.com reported, citing a police report. .

LeBoeuf’s black Ford SUV was found damaged and inside the vehicle, police saw nine empty bottles and two boxes of wine in the front cup holders, according to the report.

Police said they noticed a “strong smell of alcohol” and noted that LeBeauf “was unable to follow instructions” and “was extremely unstable on his feet” during a field sobriety test.

LeBeauf reportedly failed a breathalyzer test at the state police barracks, recording a blood alcohol level of 0.32 – almost four times the legal limit of 0.08.

LeBoeuf is accused of drunk driving, negligent driving and violation of marked lanes, the report said.

He was released on remand during his indictment on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the MP apologized in a statement posted on Twitter for his “unpleasant miscalculation”.

“I am grateful that there were no injuries and I acknowledge the pain I caused to my family, friends and community. “I do not justify myself and I will work hard to restore people’s trust,” he wrote.

LeBoeuf added that he was fighting addiction and said he would seek treatment.
