LOS ANGELES (KABC) – A driver was detained after making “donuts” and speeding through Los Angeles during a dangerous chase on Thursday night.
The AIR7 HD was over the chase around 9:30 p.m., as the driver in the black sedan was in the Elysian Park area on Highway 5.
Glendale police had previously prosecuted a suspect who drove recklessly on shallow streets and later made donuts before boarding the highway.
When the chase was in the Chinatown area, the driver was once again circling at intersections.
There were times when the suspect drove on the wrong side of the road or stopped in the middle of the street before taking off again. At one point, authorities appeared to have stopped prosecuting suspects for irregular driving.
The suspect collided with another car and approached other vehicles.
The persecution spread to several areas, including downtown LA, East Los Angeles and South LA.
When the chase entered Leimert Park, the rear bumper of the suspect’s car was hanging.
The suspect eventually surrendered in the South Los Angeles area about an hour after the chase.
