The FBI conducted potentially millions of searches of US data last year, according to Report

WASHINGTON – The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted potentially millions of searches of U.S. electronic data last year without a warrant, U.S. intelligence officials said Friday, a revelation likely to raise long-standing concerns in Congress about government surveillance and privacy.

An annual report released Friday by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence reveals that the FBI has conducted up to 3.4 million data searches in the United States that were previously collected by the National Security Agency.
