A grass fire in Arvada on Friday forced some door-to-door evacuations, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze.

The fire was in the area of ​​West 86th Avenue and Fenton Street, according to the Arvada Police Department.

An evacuation was ordered from West 84th Avenue in the north to West 86th Avenue; Sheridan Boulevard west to Gray Court, police said. The fire shifted east to Sheridan. An emergency LookoutAlert has been sent to homes in the area.
