White House Director of Communications Kate Bedingfield tested positive for COVID-19.

In a series of tweets, Bedingfield said she found positive results on Friday morning.

Vice President Harris to take positive tests for COVID-19

“I tested positive for COVID-19 this morning. “I last saw the president on Wednesday at a socially distant meeting while wearing an N-95 mask, and he is not considered close contact, as defined by the CDC,” she wrote.

Bedingfield said she was experiencing only mild symptoms “thanks to being fully vaccinated and boosted”.

“According to White House protocols for COVID-19, I will work from home and plan to return to work in person after a five-day period of isolation and a negative test,” she said.

Bedingfield’s announcement comes after Vice President Kamala Harris tested positive for the virus earlier in the week.

Vice President Kirsten Allen’s spokeswoman said neither President Biden nor First Lady Jill Biden considered Harris’ “close contact” in recent days.
