Arkansas police released a video from a video recorder and a long statement against allegations that they killed a fleeing suspect who jumped from a bridge.

West Memphis police released the video and message Thursday night after Darin Woodward’s death. The suspect got out of his vehicle and jumped off a bridge after a long police chase and later died. Authorities say a passenger in the car blamed police for the death.

“Because of these heinous allegations, the family sought answers and was shown the same footage that will be released to the public accompanying the statement,” West Memphis police said. “At a time when the family should be mourning the loss of a family member, they were bombarded with lies about what happened.
