Jesse Marsh has already faced Manchester City once this season, as his team from RB Leipzig travels to the Etihad in the group stages of the Champions League. Although star striker Christopher Nkunku scored a hat-trick, the American left empty-handed and his team suffered a decisive 6-3 defeat.
On Saturday, both Marsh and Leeds United – who lost 7-0 to title-holders in December – will seek revenge for the defeat. All the points that Leeds can take from City would be very unlikely and vital in Leeds’ attempts to avoid the danger of relegation, as well as damage City’s hopes for the title.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Saturday, Leeds’ head coach revealed the news about the team as Leeds prepared in hopes of frustration. Crisencio Somerville has become the last player to be ruled out until the end of the season, joining Adam Forshaw and Tyler Roberts on the roster.
Meanwhile, Patrick Bamford is close to returning to training, but he will not be ready to play yet. Marsh hopes to return for the last matches of the season.
