Redskins Draft Results 2018: Da’Ron Payne is Washington’s first round pick

Draft day has finally come, and Washington has made its choice. Howell himself had to disappear at least until the 2nd round. The NFL didn’t like this year’s QB class. Sam Howell is now the first QB ever composed by Washington commanders under their new name. Washington is trading QB Carson Wentz and plans to build around it. They did a lot of work on this QB class before trading, and then turned to finding QB to develop.

Washington still has Taylor Heinecke under contract for another year, but now they have someone who can compete for the top reserve role this year and beyond. And if Wentz’s experiment fails after a year, they can move on and evaluate their QB situation with Howell and Heinicke as options.

Of the best defenders in the NFL 2022 draft, Sam Howell is the most disappointing. On the one hand, you see the strength of the hand, the ability to improvise and how he made some laser throws down the field. While on the other hand, you see a player dotted with inconsistencies. This season you saw a quarterback train. A player who hit a few ridiculous throws but also missed some laying. Of the best quarterbacks in this class, it won’t shock me in the least if Howell turns out to be the best. It also won’t shock me if Howell turns out to be the worst. In this video breakdown, I looked at Sam Howell’s strengths and weaknesses when he entered the NFL 2022 draft. I currently have him as a middle second round.
