The National Weather Service has issued a tornado clock for most of the Chicago area.
The clock includes 16 Illinois counties, including nine in the NBC 5 viewing area. McHenry, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, Will and Kankakee counties are under surveillance that will last up to 20 hours
According to the National Weather Service, strong thunderstorms are possible in Illinois and Northwest Indiana on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Some of these storms could potentially cause harmful rectilinear winds, hail, heavy rain and even isolated tornadoes.
