NASA’s Ingenuity helicopter sent back to Earth sinister but amazing images of the wreckage of NASA’s Perseverance rover, which helped bring it to the Red Planet last year.
According to CBS News, Ingenuity, the first helicopter to fly to another planet, took these 10 color aerial photographs of the wreckage of Perseverance, and NASA believes the images have “the potential to help ensure safer landings for future spacecraft.” “.

The photos show the back cover of Perseverance and a supersonic parachute, which helped the rover to land and safely pass through the atmosphere of Mars. Although the landing was a huge success, these units received some expected damage during the descent.
“Perseverance was the best-documented Mars landing in history, with cameras showing everything from parachuting to touchdown,” said Ian Clark of JPL, a former Perseverance systems engineer and now head of the Mars Sample Return ascent phase. “But Ingenuity’s images offer a different perspective. If they either claim that our systems worked the way we think they do, or provide even a set of engineering data that we can use to plan the return of samples from Mars, that would be amazing. And if not, the photos are still phenomenal and inspiring. ”
The parachute itself contained a secret message that was decoded last year and was found to contain the secret message “dare to do things”, the motto used by the Perseverance team.
Perseverance launched on July 30, 2020 and successfully landed on Mars on February 18, 2021. Its mission is to look for signs of habitable living conditions and look for signs of past microbial life.
