Police detectives in Los Angeles are investigating a deadly shooting at a dispensary near a synagogue in Tarzan

TARZANA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) – Police are investigating a man who was shot and killed in a dispensary near a synagogue in Tarzan.

Police responded to a call for a deadly weapon attack and a possible active shooter at 12:29 a.m. on Saturday at block 18,300 on Ventura Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A 30-year-old man was found dead in the dispensary with gunshot wounds, the agency said. His identity has not been revealed.

Witnesses described hearing several shots and finding some sort of confrontation at the dispensary.

“Suddenly we hear like five shots, bam!” bam! bam! bam! And we all just started running, “said Yehuda Kohentov, who was in the synagogue at the time. “We’re just starting to run out, we see what happened and we just saw a bunch of cop cars coming up. We ask them what happened and apparently right here in the dispensary, the man was trying to take something, I don’t. I don’t know and he didn’t like anything, and he started firing. “

Detectives say they do not believe the incident was a robbery.

Police are looking for two suspected men who were spotted fleeing on foot after the deadly shooting.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the LAPD.
