A cloud of black smoke can be seen from miles after a fire in a residential complex

Clouds of black smoke erupted from a fire in a quiet residential complex tonight.

Black smoke could be seen for miles as the shed caught fire in Southport. The Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were called to a fire in a Colchester Road barracks at around 5.20pm today (Sunday, May 1). The teams arrived on the scene and were there for more than an hour and a half to put out the fire.

The shed, approximately 10 m x 10 m, was “well lit” when the fire trucks arrived at the house. The MFRS also confirmed that there was one occupant of the house at the scene who received minor burns.
