GTA gas prices will catch up with the all-time record later this week, industry analyst predicts

Gas prices in the Toronto area will soon catch up with the all-time record set just two months ago, as pain in driver pumps continues.

Industry analyst Dan McTeag, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, told CP24 that the average price per liter of fuel would rise by four cents at midnight on Wednesday to 190.9 cents per liter.

This will be equal to the highest value of all time, set on March 10.

“I expect to reach $ 2 a liter at some point around the weekend of May 24,” McTeague told CP24 last week. “I am not proud to say that this will happen, but we warn that circumstances certainly point to this.

Gas prices have been rising steadily for months since Russia’s decision to invade Ukraine.

The price of a liter of fuel fell to 163.9 cents per liter in early April, but it was temporary.
