Is Eid in Pakistan tomorrow? The date of Eid ul Fitr 2022 has already been confirmed

Eid’s dates have been confirmed for Pakistan after worshipers waited for news. Since Saudi Arabia first announced the date of Eid ul-Fitr on Saturday, April 30, a number of other nations have made their own declarations.

It looks like Id ul Fitr will be on May 1, 2 or 3 this year, depending on where you are in the world and what dates you follow. This is common in the Islamic calendar.

In addition to differences in the visibility of the moon for Eid and whether countries base the date on astronomical forecasts or wait for actual observations, some places began Ramadan on a different day, so they were not in line with others when looking for a new moon.

All this contributes to a lot of uncertainty and anticipation, which became part of the excitement of the occasion – huge crowds gather in the hope of seeing the thin crescent moon on the night before Eid, known as Chaand Raat.

It now appears that Pakistan has its own Eid date fixed in the calendar. Geo News reported that Pakistan’s Central Committee Ruet-e-Hilal announced that the moon for the month of Shuwal was not seen on Sunday, meaning the country will celebrate the first day of Eid ul-Fitr on Tuesday (May 3rd).

The commission met in Islamabad. Speaking at a news conference, President Maulana Abdul Habir Azad said: “It was decided by consensus that Eid be celebrated on May 3 across the country.”

Pakistani journalist Ghulam Abbas Shah tweeted that the moon had not been spotted in the country and that Eid would be on Tuesday (May 3rd). In addition, the Pakistani government has announced four days of official Eid holidays from May 2 to May 5 inclusive.

The date will be of interest to some UK locals who want to follow Pakistan’s communications. Birmingham City Council says 13.5% of the population here in Birmingham is of Pakistani ethnicity. In terms of religion, 21.85% of Brummies are Muslims.
