Renfrewshire police are calling for information following a serious attack in Johnstone.
At around 5:55 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, police received a report of an attack on a man who was walking his dog at Cochrane Castle Golf Course, Johnstone.
Emergency services were visited and the 49-year-old man was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment of a serious head injury.
Investigations revealed that the man was involved in a verbal quarrel with a group of golfers near the 16th Green and the 17th on the course.

Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton of Paisley Police said: “A man was seriously injured and it is imperative that we trace who is responsible.
“Officers are investigating the area after the incident.
“We believe that the area would be very busy with golfers and we would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact us.
“If you were in the area at the time, please reconsider and contact us if you have any information that may help our investigation.”
