Kate and Gary McCann described the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine as a “horrific crime” and said they were still looking for answers.
Speaking on the eve of the 15th anniversary of the disappearance of the British youth on May 3, 2007, the couple acknowledged that this year will be “no harder than any other, but no easier.”
They said in a statement: “This year marks fifteen years since we last saw Madeleine.
“It’s not harder than anyone else, but it’s not easier. This is a very long time.
“A lot of people are talking about the need to close. It has always been a strange term.
“Regardless of the outcome, Madeleine will always be our daughter and a truly horrific crime has been committed.
“These things will remain.

“It is true, however, that insecurity creates weakness; knowledge and security give strength, and for this reason our need for answers, for the truth, is essential.
“We are grateful for the continued work and commitment of the authorities of the United Kingdom, Portugal and Germany, as it is these combined police efforts that will bring results and bring us these answers.
“As always, we would like to thank all our supporters for their continued good wishes and support. It is a great consolation to know that despite the passage of time, Madeleine is still in people’s hearts and minds. Thank you.”

The couple published the message along with a famous quote from the famous books of the English author Alan Alexander Milne “Winnie the Pooh”, which says: “But most importantly, even if we are separated, I will always be with you.”
Benefactor Amanda Leslie Panzer replied, “What a terrible ordeal. I have no idea how you proceeded.
“But I’m praying that all the facts will be provided this summer so you can rest easy.”

Rosemary Golt added: “Blessed are you. Never lose hope. The Lord is with you. Always feel his presence. ”
Convicted rapist Christian Bruckner was declared an “arguido” or officially suspected by Portuguese prosecutors last month.
The 45-year-old man, who is serving a 7-year prison sentence in his native Germany for raping an American pensioner in the same resort of Praia da Luz, where Madeleine disappeared in the Algarve, is also considered by German authorities to be a prime suspect in the unsolved crime.
