For Hudson and Maxwell Shoemaker, the work is not complete until the paperwork is completed
At 8:30 a.m. Monday, city officials were available to receive the first nominations for the 2022 municipal elections.
But compartment 3 pcs. Matthew Shoemaker was the only electoral candidate to reach the Ron A. Irwin Civic Center to submit the necessary documents.
Shoemaker appeared with campaign associates Hudson and Maxwell and, as expected, garnered more than $ 200 and 25 signatures of approval to run for mayor.
Earlier, he announced his intention to seek the job on March 29.
Ozzy Grandinetti, a former councilor in the then District 6, also signaled his desire to run for mayor, but did not submit documents today.
There were no local nominations for the first day for the city council, the school council of Algoma, the Catholic district council of Huron-Superior, the Conseil scolaire de district du Grand Nord de l’Ontario or the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario.
The nominations end at 2 pm on August 19.
Municipal elections in 2022 are held on Monday, October 24.
