Sir Keir Starmer drank beer in Durham late in the evening because his dinner home arrived an hour late, Labor sources said.
The investigation into Starmer’s behavior on the eve of last April’s local elections, when he was filmed drinking shortly after 10pm on Friday, has intensified as the Tories try to question the claim that he broke up just for dinner and returned to work.
A source familiar with the matter dismissed allegations that 30 people were present, suggesting there were only about 15 – including Starmer’s deputy, Angela Raynor, whom Labor said was not present.
