Remains of a child have been found at a construction site in Toronto

The human remains found yesterday in a construction container in Rosedale are believed to be a child or possibly a baby, a police source told CTV News Toronto.

On Monday, police responded to a call in the Castle Frank Road and Dale Avenue area around 4:45 p.m.

Police say human remains were placed in a garbage can placed in the driveway of the home.

Neighbors told CTV News Toronto that the home had been empty for months, with periodic work.

The cause of death has not yet been determined and police say the circumstances appear suspicious.

“At the moment I can not confirm the sex, the age of this body, which was localized. We hope to receive more information pending the outcome of the autopsy, ”Const. Laura Brabant told CP24 on Tuesday morning.

The investigation is being monitored by the Homicide and Missing Persons Department.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-5300 or anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
