Former Metropolitan Police Officer Wayne Cousins is one of five killers who will have their prison sentences reviewed by senior judges at the Royal Courts on Wednesday.
Cousins, who killed Sarah Everard in March 2021, and Ian Stewart, who killed his wife in 2010 and his fiancée in 2016, will have their life sentences reviewed after appealing their sentences.
A lifetime is given in the most serious cases, when a judge considers that a person should never be considered for release.
Emma Tustin and Thomas Hughes, who were sentenced to 29 and 21 respectively in December 2021 for the murder of six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, will also be reconsidered after appealing their sentences.
However, Attorney General Suela Braverman has also asked for their sentences to be reconsidered if they are “unjustifiably lenient.”
Ms. Braverman has also asked for a review of the sentence of Jordan Monaghan, who was sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison for the murder of her partner and two young children, to see if she was unjustifiably lenient.
Five senior judges will review the verdicts in the Royal Court on Wednesday.

Cousins was given a life warrant in September for the murder of 33-year-old marketing director Ms. Everard.
A firearms officer from the metropolitan police used his ID card and handcuffs to abduct her as she was returning home, using COVID-19 blocking rules as a precondition for a false arrest in South London.
Stewart killed his wife Diane Stewart in 2010 before killing his fiancée Helen Bailey six years later.
The double killer denied killing Ms. Stewart, who died at their family home in Basingburn, Cambridgeshire, on June 25, 2010.

The cause of death of the 47-year-old man was registered at the time as sudden death in epilepsy (Sudep).
Police have reopened the case after Stewart was convicted of killing his fiancée, children’s book author Helen Bailey, whose body was found in a £ 1.5m house cesspool shared at Royston, Hertfordshire in 2016.
Tustin and Hughes were jailed after Arthur, Hugh’s son, was poisoned, starved and beaten to death in a protracted campaign of “evil violence” in Solihull, West Midlands.

Monagan, 30, blocked the airways of his daughter Ruby, 24, and Logan, 21, in January and August 2013.
Both killings took place in Blackburn, Lancashire.
Six years later, the gambling addict killed his new girlfriend, 23-year-old Evie Adams, with a drug overdose.
