Eric ten Haag watches Denzel Dumfries for Manchester United

Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries is on Manchester United’s transfer list, and new manager Eric ten Haag is a fan of the defender.

The Italian edition of Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) reports that the new manager of Manchester United Eric ten Haag expects a move for the right back of Inter Milan Denzel Dumfries. The Dutch tactician has reportedly put Dumfries at the top of the list of desired right-backs as he prepares to return the club to the top echelons of European football.

Ten Hague will have Aaron One-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot as two right-back options when he arrives at Old Trafford. And while it is unclear which of the two players will prefer the current Ajax manager at Manchester United, he reportedly identified Dumfries as a suitable option for his system.

Currently at Inter Milan, the Dutch international moved to Italy only last season with a transfer of 15 million euros from PSV Eindhoven. He has 41 games for Serie A champions in various competitions, scoring five and assisting seven goals. His Nerazzurri form convinced Ten Haag to pursue the 26-year-old.

The aforementioned report claims that despite his signature last summer, Inter are ready to listen to the offers and can leave him to leave if the right one arrives. If the Tuttosport report is something to be done, the Italian giants expect an offer of about 35 million euros for Dumfries.

At just 26, Dumfries can serve at the club for years to come and the price shouldn’t deter Manchester United, especially if Ten Haag has named him his preferred right-back. The Dutch tactician was reportedly ready to bring Nusair Mazrawi with him to Old Trafford, but the Moroccan international rejected the 20-time English champions in favor of Bayern Munich.

It is reported that Dumfries is already his favorite right back, Manchester United will want to do everything possible to reach a deal. The 26-year-old will have three years left from his contract with Inter after the ongoing season, which justifies the price that the Nerazzurri reportedly charged him.

It will be interesting to see if they continue to pursue Dumfries or decide to look for alternatives, with Norse City’s Max Arons also being an option on Manchester United’s radar.
