Former Manchester United defender Chris Smalling plays Jose Mourinho’s Roma until the Europa League final.
Roma beat Leicester City 1-0 at night and 2-1 overall thanks to a header by Tammy Abraham to host the final against Feyenoord.
Former Manchester United defender Mourinho Chris Smalling has played a key role in keeping the net clean. It was the biggest moment for him since leaving the Red Devils for 13.6 million pounds in 2020.
This is the third time that Smalling has reached the European final. He was an unused reserve in the Champions League final in 2011 and began when United beat Ajax 2-0 in the 2017 Europa League final.

The SURPRISE star of your club this season
Jose Mourinho’s Roma reached the final
This is another European final for Jose Mourinho. It may be “only” the Europa League, but it was the race he had. This is the first European final for Roma since 1991.
Mourinho is aiming to win his first Europa League trophy in 2017 with United. He won the Champions League with Inter Milan in 2010 and Porto in 2004.
Tuttomercatoweb praised the manager, writing: “In the ‘normal’ season, he takes the usual rabbit out of his hat. He is a leader of the people, not just a team manager. “
Smaling “exclusive”
Smalling played all 90 minutes while Roma won by making five clearances, two interceptions and one block, while winning seven of seven aerial duels to ensure Jamie Vardy would never see him again.
Tuttomercatoweb chose Smalling as a star, hailing him as a “Roma defense conductor” and praising his “outstanding performance”.

None of the Manchester United fans will be offended by Smalling’s success. The 32-year-old has played 323 times for the Red Devils and has played 32 times for Roma this season.
Roma Mourinho and Smalling have conceded just 40 goals in 35 Serie A games this season. Meanwhile, Manchester United have conceded 52 goals in 36 games this season.
Would United really be worse off if Smalling had stayed and £ 80 million had not been spent on Harry Maguire?
Smalling will do his best to turn back time to 2017 with Mourinho later this month. We wish them good luck.
