Sinn Fein President Mary Lou MacDonald and Vice President Michel O’Neill arrived amid a media riot at the Belfast Counting Center earlier. Mrs. O’Neill led the survey in Mead Ulster.

DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson was elected to Lagan Valley, while Alliance leader Naomi Long led a poll in East Belfast for a good day for her party, which increased its share of first-vote votes by more than 4% to 13.5%. to become the third largest party. TUV marked the biggest fluctuation since 2017 – + 5%, after attracting 7.7% of the votes for first preferences.

Some candidates face a long wait to find out if they have been selected or not, with the countdown scheduled for a second day at all three centers as transfers add up.

Among those who may be left to sweat over the position are Ulster Unionist leader Doug Beatty and Claire Bailey of the NI Green Party, who are under pressure to keep their seats.

Among the most famous eliminations so far are Peter Weir from DUP in Strangford and UUP Roy Beggs in East Antrim.
