One of the hallmarks of the Biden administration’s press conferences is the ongoing recommendation between Fox News correspondent in the White House / Blind Peter Ducey and spokeswoman Jen Psaki.
Doocy’s carefully crafted questions often change surprisingly, and seek to delineate events in a politically unprofitable way for the administration. They are designed to provoke a television moment.
Psaki left his mark in the briefing room with answers that are full of facts, short and sometimes – especially for Doocy – a little cutting.
So after Psaki announced her resignation this month, Dusi tried once again to catch her unprepared with the most disarming tactic of all: He played well.
When the spokesman called, Dusi began, “I’m sorry you’re leaving.”
Psaki looked away, biting, “Is that you?” Which caused laughter throughout the briefing, even from Dusi.
“Yes,” he replied, “and you’ve always been a good athlete. On behalf of everyone, ‘he continued, waving his hand around the room,’ thank you.
“Thank you. So do you,” she replied.
Dusi then issued his opening salvo: “Do you think that progressive activists who are planning protests outside some of the [Supreme Court] are judges’ houses extreme?
Psaki replied sharply and things returned to normal.
