Surrey News: A teenager is attacked on a bus

Police are looking for a suspect after the attack, filmed by a teenager’s camera on a Vancouver subway bus.

The attack took place last month, but police released details by Thursday.

Vancouver Transit Police officials said in a statement that the 17-year-old victim was attacked while on a bus in Surrey on April 1.

That afternoon, she was sitting in the back of a bus on Route 335. A man got on the bus and “started behaving chaotically” as he headed for the back, the MVTP said.

He was sitting next to the teenager, but a video released by police on Thursday showed he was not sitting still.

According to investigators, “The suspect continued to behave more and more agitated, eventually standing up and blocking the teenager from sitting in her place. Then, without any provocation, he allegedly punched her several times in the head, driving the glasses let her face fly out. “

The video shows the attack, during which the man seems to be focused on the girl’s face and head.

“Despite the teenager’s attempts to defend herself when she bent down to pick up her glasses, the suspect used his knee to hit her in the head.

Fortunately, she has no serious physical injuries.

Police said the man got off the bus at a stop near 152nd Street and 84th Avenue. He got off when the victim told the bus driver about the attack.

The girl called the police when she came home and started an investigation.

Police released a video and photo of the suspect weeks later, asking for help from the public to identify the man involved.

Officers describe him as a South Asian, aged between 30 and 40, with a medium build and a bald head. He is about 5’8 “, police said, and at the time was wearing a long black winter jacket, as well as light blue jeans and black velcro sneakers.
