A 30-year-old man from Edinburgh died after a serious attack in a residential community

A 30-year-old man died after a severe attack in the Nydri community on Thursday night, Scottish police confirmed.

The incident happened around 8 pm on Thursday (May 5th) on Niddrie Marischal Road, at the intersection with Niddrie Marischal Grove in the capital.

The man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital in Edinburgh, where he was later reported dead on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

The death was treated as unexplained and employees approached the public for information.

They have asked anyone who knows anything about the incident to contact them on 101 as the investigation continues.

A Scottish police spokesman said: “At around 20:00 on Thursday, 5 May 2022, police were called to report a 30-year-old man who was seriously attacked on Niddrie Marischal Road, at the junction of Niddrie Marischal Grove , Edinburgh.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital in Edinburgh, where he died on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
