More than 50 firefighters are dealing with a large fire in a commercial building on Bari Street in Oldham. It is believed that the fire broke out around 4 am on Saturday morning, May 7.
The videos show that the fire was in The Tile Shop, a tile warehouse and bathroom. The outbreak was reported on social media on Facebook and Twitter. A resident who lives near the scene said employees were notified of the fire at the tile company at around 2.45 this morning.
“We didn’t expect that,” she said. “The street is cut off, but we are all in our homes. The fire seems almost extinguished, but the building is destroyed inside.”
Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue said: “More than 50 firefighters are currently responding to a large fire in a commercial building on Barry Street, Oldham. We expect to be here in the morning, so please avoid the area while the crews are working. Locals are advised to keep doors and windows closed. “
